Hey there! My name is Isaac Bernstein, I am originally from Massachusetts and have since moved on to explore the mountains of the United States and beyond. Growing up in a suburban environment didn't lend itself to creating a strong relationship with nature, but for whatever reason I felt the pull to exist in natural spaces. This was the impetus for a life outside!
I moved from Massachusetts to Vermont for school, where I attended Vermont State University. I studied Outdoor Education and Wilderness Leadership and my first semester was where I learned about climbing! The process of self-discovery, working through emotion and doing something I didn't think I could, became the defining characteristics of this new activity and sparked a passion.
I then began guiding and instructing climbing courses, and soon after graduating, I moved to Colorado. Since falling into this newfound passion, I have climbed and skied throughout some of the well-known, and lesser-known mountain ranges in the United States. I continue to push myself to be better at what I do, and having a strong, energetic passion for this makes that possible.

I want my guests to leave with positive memories in beautiful places.
I want my guests to learn about themselves, about where they recreate, and how to be sound climbers for themselves and for others.
I want to provide my guests with the safest experiences I can reasonably create.
Establishing Sunlight Guiding comes from my desire to provide people with a tailored experience to what their goals and objectives are, while also helping nudge people to do something they think is just beyond their reach. The comfort zone is a place where many of us live for the majority of our lives without ever touching the stretch zone, which is often where we have our most profound and life changing experiences. So, let's get outside, go climbing, get into the stretch zone, and create some memorable experiences!
